Alfie is a handsome 1 year old Boxer boy. He has come from a very loving home and was loved to bits, but due to a relationship breakdown this meant Alfie was not getting the time and attention he needs, so for his own benefit they made the hard decision to hand him over to us to find a new home with someone who can offer him the time he needs.
Alfie has lived with another dog from birth and would benefit from the company of another dog in the home, he relied on the other dog in the home to ’show him the way’ so a canine companion would be great for him. He is great with children, but has not lived with cats (he will chase them). He does suffer from seperation anxiety and has ben known to chew if left for prolonged periods, although this has only started recently due to him being left longer than he was used to, he would benefit from a home with someone around most of the day.
Alfie is an extremely friendly loving dog, he loves nothing more than a cuddle, loves his food , although doesn’t respond to training treats, he has better things to do and not enough time to do them in! Alfie does everything at 100 miles per hour but doesn’t know what he’s doing until he’s doing it, but he does respond quickly to training and is willing to learn, currently use a halti on walks to stop pulling and he could also use some recall training.
He would be ideal for agility as his ability to learn is brilliant and has tons of energy, he would need an active family, he can and will walk for miles at a time. He loves his home comforts, nice soft bed will be fine but would prefer yours! Alfie suffers from allergies but this is kept under control by being fed on a good diet, when he does have off days or flare ups then he can take a steroid to reduce the inflamation. He is neutered, vaccinated and chipped.
