Gel is a 3 years old shortcoated Collie cross. Gel was a farm dog who has been kept on a 4 foot chain for the past year. He was disinterested in working with the sheep so this was his future until someone asked the farmer if he would let him go to another home.
When he was admitted to the shelter, he was very dirty, matted and subdued, his eyes were dull and sad. The next day after a bath and lots of attention he was a different dog, he craves affection, seems fine with other dogs but not for cats. He is not a pretty dog but he has had an awful life and it would be nice if he could experience a real home for the first time in his life. He will be neutered this week.
